I've been wanting to hold an avilope DTA for quite a while now, and I figure now is as good a time to do it as any! uvu

What is a DTA? DTA means "Draw to Adopt", which is form of a contest where you draw an adoptable in order to have a chance to own them!

This avilope has three ultra rare horns that resemble opal! Gem horns are probably not something you'll see again on an avilope again for a long time.


How to enter

• Draw the avilope pictured above
• Upload to deviantART (not sta.sh)
• Description must include:
"Entry #_ for Avilope-Empire's DTA event.

(optional description)

Avilope are a closed species by Dogquest."
• Submit to the "Opal Dream DTA" folder in Avilope-Empire

Any entries not submitted to the correct folder will be invalid. Must be a member of the group to enter, but you are not obligated to stay.


Rules

• One deviation= one entry (may change depending on the content of your deviation)
• Entries can be digital or traditional
• Slight design changes are allowed, addition of different traits are not. Fur patterns do not need to be replicated exactly.
• Clothing/accessory is optional, but you may not design new garments.
• Human/anthro adaptations the design are allowed.
• Be kind to others and try to refrain from putting down your own entries.
• Obviously no tracing/theft.
• All non-winning entries will be considered gift art to the winner.


Judging

Effort, interest and creativity
Entries will be judged primarily through the effort and creativity put into them. Character development, multiple entries, short stories and backgrounds in entries are all great ways to express effort and interest, but really just put creativity into it and you'll have a good chance of winning!

Artistic ability
Artistic ability will factor into the judging somewhat, but of course effort and creativity will by far outweigh sheer artistic skill when judging.

Avilope are a closed species of quadruped mammal created by Dogquest. They have human-level sapiece, enough to form their own languages and cultures. Avilope are highly social, and live in large groups called flocks. They communicate through verbal language as well as body language, and can produce an extremely wide range of sounds, allowing them with practice to communicate with most creatures capable of complex language, including humans. Hierarchy and roles
Most avilope flocks do not have a strict hierarchy. Instead, each avilope within a flock chooses a a role early in life. They will study and practice this role from when they choose it until the leader of the flock deems them adequately skilled, at which point they will officially be considered an adult. Typically the individual is allowed to choose their role at just before the start of adolescence, though in some smaller flocks or when resources are scarce a pup's role may be chosen for them.
